We started also with a free WordPress site at uni.verse.hosting, but eventually moved to their paid service since the difference is always worth it. So far we have had no issues and everything runs great, fast and responsive. Lots of extras too, like plugins, themes, CDN, webmail, ecommerce, etc.

We used to host the website ourselves but eventually decided that it was better to outsource it.

For development and testing purpose one can go with a hosting provider that provides unlimited staging URLs. You can host live site and a mirror of that site on a staging URL so you have easy time moving sites around. We have this model on Cloudways where you can also invite team members and give them limited or full access. Try it.

Hi Fahad,

You are right paid hosting is far better than free but if any one is serious and their blog/business then of course it is worth investing in a decent host.

That being said there are advantages for free hosting for example, when I am bring on new developers to help out with a project I sometimes host with x10 and give them access. I also use for small niche blog for testing purpose.
